After the Wedding

As it is such a long way to Sicily, we hope you'll be able to stay a few days after the wedding. There is plenty to see nearby [photos]. We intend to visit some of these places with our guests.

Let us know if you'd like to join us. Perhaps we can share the costs of a coach / minibus to save everybody hiring cars?

The plan at the moment...

Sunday 18th

Hopefully everybody will still be around and be able to join us on Sunday afternoon for a trip to the mosaics in nearby Piazza Armerina. "The richest, largest and most complex collection of Roman mosaics in the world" - it would be a real shame to come so close and miss this!

Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st

We will be visiting other beautiful places, but haven't made any firm plans. Having visited some of the major attractions last year, we may go a little off the beaten track this time around. We'd like for our guests to join us if they want - let us know if you're interested.

If the weather is good, we might well head to Mount Etna. Last year we took the cable car and off-road bus to about 2900m, where it's possible to do a short walk with a guide. This was about 50 euros. It was really windy and pretty cold up there, so bring warm coats / hats / gloves. We'd like to do a bigger walk, taking a guide up to the summit crater. This takes some hours and you need walking boots, but is only possible in good weather.

Thursday 22nd

We will spend the day with Laura's family for her Grandad's 90th birthday.
